MPF carries out a robust outreach and education program—offering hikes, frequent online programming, workshops, in-person presentations, a presence at festivals and tradeshows, and other outreach activities—to help introduce more people to the importance of prairie and benefits of native plants.
In addition, MPF’s Missouri Prairie Journal, in continuous publication since 1979, fills an important role in the conservation community by sharing results of prairie research and the ecological importance of prairie and native plants.
Gifts in 2023 to support MPF’s outreach and education endeavors will help fund MPF’s prairie outreach, research, and educational programming and other activities. Thanks to a generous match gift from Susan Lordi Marker, all gifts of any amount will be matched to a total of $25,000 to create a $50,000 outreach and education fund.
“MPF does wonderful work protecting original prairie,” said Lordi Marker, “and MPF’s outreach and education is extremely important to help people understand the importance of prairie protection and native plants. Please join Dennis and me in supporting MPF so the organization can continue and expand its active outreach and education program.”
