MPF Webinar: Take a (Virtual) Hike on the Prairie – Fall Edition

September 11, 2024 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Grey skies illuminate the background of this tallgrass prairie

What can you see, hear, and experience on a Missouri tallgrass prairie in fall? Join MPF Vice President of Science and Management Bruce Schuette as he leads a virtual tour of MPF’s Friendly Prairie in Pettis County. We’ll learn about life on the prairie in the fall, including what flora and fauna you can observe. This virtual hike will be pre-recorded, but participants will be able to ask questions live following the virtual hike.

Bruce Schuette retired from working 36 years as a park naturalist at Cuivre River State Park, where he was involved in natural resource management (prescribed burns, invasive plant control, ecosystem management), natural resource inventory, collections, monitoring, working with researchers, and nature education. He has served on the MPF board since January 2000, served as secretary 2005-2012, and is vice president of Science & Management and chairman of the Science & Management Committee.

The webinar, to be held via Zoom, will include a video presentation and a live question and answer session. The webinar will be recorded, and sent to all registrants, as well as posted to our YouTube channel.
