MPF is organizing a volunteer work day on Tuesday, Dec. 8 (inclement weather back-up date of Dec. 10) at 10:00 a.m. at its Polson Loess Bluff Prairie near Rock Port, MO near the Nebraska state line.
This 20-acre property atop a steep bluff contains rare loess hill prairie and harbors 10 species of conservation concern. Volunteers are needed to cut and move eastern red cedar and locust, apply herbicide to cut stumps, and help establish a fire break.
Volunteers experienced running a chainsaw, please bring chainsaws and proper personal protection equipment. All volunteers, please bring work gloves, appropriate clothing, drinking water, and lunch. Care will be taken to socially distance.
