Kansas City Native Plant Sale – Anita B. Gorman Conservation Discovery Center

The Missouri Prairie Foundation will hold a native plant sale organized in partnership with Anita B. Gorman Conservation Discovery Center, 4750 Troost Ave., Kansas City, MO 64110 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Native plant vendors at this event include: City Roots Nursery, Missouri Wildflowers Nursery, Ozark Soul, and Sow Wild Natives. Vendor Leaf & Sky will be offering native-plant-inspired home goods, native bee houses, and related products.

Some vendors accept cash, check, or credit cards; some only cash or checks. Shoppers may begin browsing product selections, making purchases, and picking up pre-orders from each vendor at the advertised start time. “Early birds” will be asked to wait until the advertised start time to begin shopping.

Shoppers can also pre-order plants and have their orders ready for pick up at the event. The following vendors are accepting pre-orders. When placing your pre-orders, please include your phone number and note that the order is for the Anita B. Gorman Conservation Discovery Center sale on September 13:

City Roots Nursery– Pre-orders will be accepted until Thursday, September 11. Folks can preorder online at www.cityrootsnursery.com.

Missouri Wildflowers Nursery– Order by calling 573-496-3492, by email at mowldflrs@socket.net, or online http://mowildflowers.net/. See http://mowildflowers.net for a plant list. Orders must be placed no later than midnight on Tuesday, September 9.

Ozark Soul- Order via website (preferred): https://preorder.ozarksoul.com or phone: 816-809-4062. Please visit https://ozarksoul.com/availability for current availability. Orders must be placed no later than 5 p.m. on Wednesday, September 10.

Sow Wild Natives– To pre-order, email the species and quantities to tracy@sowwildnatives.com by Wednesday, September 10.

Shoppers are encouraged to bring their own crates or boxes for transporting their purchased plants home. Volunteers may be available to load plants into vehicles for those needing assistance. Vendors will donate a portion of their sale proceeds to benefit the conservation work of the Missouri Prairie Foundation.
