New Franklin Native Plant Sale – Missouri Chestnut Roast Festival

The Missouri Prairie Foundation will hold a native plant sale organized in partnership with the Missouri Chestnut Roast Festival at the MU Horticulture and Agroforestry Research Farm, 10 Research Center Road, New Franklin, MO 65274 on Saturday, October 18, 2025 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Native plant vendors at this event include Grindstone Wildflowers and Gaylena’s Garden. Vendor Leaf & Sky will be offering native-plant-inspired home goods, native bee houses, and related products.

Some vendors accept cash, check, or credit cards; some only cash or checks. Shoppers may begin browsing product selections, making purchases, and picking up pre-orders from each vendor at the advertised start time. “Early birds” will be asked to wait until the advertised start time to begin shopping.

Shoppers can also pre-order plants and have their orders ready for pick up at the event. The following vendor is accepting pre-orders. When placing your pre-orders, please include your phone number and note that the order is for the Missouri Chestnut Roast Festival sale on October 18:

Shoppers are encouraged to bring their own crates or boxes for transporting their purchased plants home. Vendors will donate a portion of their sale proceeds to benefit the conservation work of the Missouri Prairie Foundation.
